Substitute - How do I make myself available and unavailable?

As a substitute, it is important to manage your availability to receive remplacement offers. Knowing how to make yourself available or indicate your periods of unavailability is essential to optimize your opportunities while respecting your personal constraints.



Should I enter my AVAILABILITIES into the system?


No, you do not need to enter specific availabilities into the system. 


The system assumes that you are available at all times to take on a remplacement as long as the I am available toggle is activated.


To reach this toggle, go to your profile by clicking on your name in the top-right corner and selecting My ProfileIn the General tab, activate the I am a Substitute (I wish to be called for substitute work) toggle if applicable, and also activate the I am available toggle. Don't forget to save.


However, once you accept an offer, your availability for that period is automatically updated. This means you will not receive other offers that conflict with the one you have accepted.



How to manage my UNAVAILABIILITY?


If you have unavailability for a short period, such as a personal appointment for a few hours, a trip for a few days, or a work contract for a few weeks, indicate to the system when you won't be able to substitute by using a Personal event.


If you have unavailability for a long period or an indefinite duration, you can completely stop receiving substitute offers by using the I am available toggle.

 How do I indicate my unavailability for a short period?


If you know the specific times when you are unavailable, enter them into the system using a Personal event. Here's how: 

  • Go to the Home module;
  • Click on the +Event button;

  • Enter the title of the unavailability event and select the date and times during which you will be unavailable;
  • If desired, add Other dates with the same time if it is a recurring unavailability.

  • Make sure the Consider this event as an unavailability switch is activated. ;
  • Click Save to finalize. 


If you wish to receive offers despite your event, simply deactivate the Consider this event as an unavailability toggle. Your event will then be a personal note only. 



Once you have reported an unavailability, the system will take these periods into account and will not offer you any assignments that conflict with these events. However, you can still receive offers for time slots where you are available.

How do I indicate my unavailability for a long period?


If you no longer wish to be contacted for new replacements, you can deactivate the I am available toggle in your profile.


This will let the system know that you are unavailable: you will no longer receive remplacement offers until you reactivate this option.
